The CV engines use a small-radial-ratio compressor diffuser design. An integrated one-piece diffuser achieves the smallest outer diameter among engines of the same thrust class, reducing vehicle frontal drag.
For airframe integrators, a smaller engine cross-section means less frontal drag and more freedom in the layout of the vehicle body and air intake.
The diffuser design is applied across the CV1 to CV4 thrust range.
